Qatar-gas is the largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) company in the world.With 42 million metric tons of LNG producing and supplying annually from across its four ventures (Qatar-gas 1, Qatar-gas 2, Qatar-gas 3, and Qatar-gas 4).Together with RasGas, it reached a record LNG production of 77 million tones per annum in December 2010.

The Qatargas company was established in 1984.The first shipment of LNG was delivered to Japan in 1996.The shareholders of the Qatargas 1 are Qatar Petroleum, ExxonMobil, Total, Mitsui and Marubeni. It owns three LNG trains. Qatargas develops, produces, and markets hydrocarbons from the world’s largest non-associated natural gas field. In addition to producing LNG, Qatargas is also a leading exporter of natural gas, helium, condensate and associated products.
