PROCEDURE TO CHANGE PROFESSION IN QATAR ID-RESIDENCE PERMIT
All newcomers
wishing to work and live in Qatar require a Work Residence Permit (commonly
referred to as an RP)
Many expats faces issues with their profession
wrongly mentioned in their Qatar ID . This can affect them in many ways like in
obtaining privileges from official institutions and banks, visa on arrival,
hassles in arranging family visa, Driving license etc.
The Department of Labour regulates the
procedures to amend the profession in accordance with the form filled by those
who wish to modify or change their profession.
Employees who have changed jobs or career paths
may apply to the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs to change the profession
in Qatar ID.

Download and fill the form,
“Application for Modifying Residents Details” from link
Submit the form along with the below mentioned
documents to the Labour
department for verification and approval
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR CHANGING ID
PROFESSION:
1) Application Form for Profession Change (Application for Modifying Residents
Details)
2) NOC & ID copy of the authorized signatory
3) ID copy of the applicant
4) Educational certificate
- Translated in Arabic
- Attested by the ministry of foreign affairs and respective embassy in Qatar
- Minimum Degree for Manager - Graduate
5) Existing Employment Contract
6) New Employment Contract (1 original + 3 copies)
company stamped & signed by both parties
7) A copy of the
company’s Establishment ID and valid municipal license
8) Electricity Bill (Applicant’s)
9) Salary Certificate from Company
10) Six months Bank Statement
You can
approach the Ministry personally or through a company representative. The
Department of Labor at the Ministry will review the new work contract and
certify it. The procedure of changing profession will be completed at the end
of Ministry of Interior which issues Qatar ID.
