2019 IAAF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS QATAR

The 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships (Arabic: [بطولة العالم لألعاب القوى]), the seventeenth edition of the IAAF World Athletics Championships, will be held for the first time in Qatar (also in the Middle East) at the renovated multi-purpose Khalifa International Stadium.


IAAF World Championships will have be bigger in terms of global reach and impact. Doha will be welcoming 205 countries and 3,500 athletes with approximately 10,000 international guests, 30,000 spectators from outside Qatar and more than 2,000 media personnel.

HISTORY OF IAAF

International Association of Athletics Federations is the international governing body for the sport of athletics. It was founded on 17 July 1912 as the International Amateur Athletic Federation by representatives from 17 national athletics federations at the organization's first congress in Stockholm, Sweden. Since October 1993, it has been headquartered in Monaco

However, the organization retained the word amateur in its name until its 2001 congress, at which it changed its name to the International Association of Athletics Federations

The IAAF World Athletics Championships, is a biennial athletics event organized by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF).
