NAKILAT

Nakilat is a Qatari shipping and maritime company with the world’s largest LNG shipping fleet, comprising of 69 LNG carriers. The company also owns one floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) and manages four large LPG carriers.  Nakilat was established in 2004 and is a joint stock company owned 50% by its founding shareholders and 50% by the public.

Nakilat is an integral component of the supply chain of some of the largest, most advanced energy projects in the world undertaken by Qatar Petroleum, Qatar-gas and their joint venture partners for the State of Qatar.

Via strategic joint ventures, Nakilat operates ship repair and construction facilities (N-KOM and NDSQ) at the world-class Erhama Bin Jaber Al Jalahma Shipyard, provides towage services (NSW), shipping agency services as well as maritime support services (NAC) to vessels operating in Qatari waters.

The major shareholders of the company are: Qatar Petroleum (1%), Qatar Fuel [Woqod](2%), Qatar Education & Health Fund (2%), Military Pension Fund & other Qatari government agencies (2%), Qatar Foundation Fund (4%), Qatar Pension Fund (10%), Milaha [the new identity for the two combined companies Qatar Navigation and Qatar Shipping] (30%) and Qatari Citizens / Other (49%).
